Ground broken for Kipo–Saraga road link in East Boroko

The long-anticipated Kipo–Saraga Roadlink project officially broke ground this week in Kipo, East Boroko, marking the start of major infrastructure works expected to ease traffic and improve connectivity in the area.

Announcing the project, Hon. Justin Tkatchenko MP said the development would proceed alongside consultations with affected residents. “As the roadworks begin, we will work closely with families whose homes are within the road design to ensure they are properly relocated and resettled,” he said.

Tkatchenko expressed optimism about the project’s broader benefits. “We look forward to the completion of this road and the positive impact it will have on the people of Kipo and Saraga, and the city as a whole,” he said.

The Kipo–Saraga link forms part of ongoing efforts to modernise Port Moresby’s urban infrastructure and ease congestion in the rapidly growing capital.
