Hon. Rainbo Paita, Leader of the OUR Party and Minister for Mining & Special Projects, has strongly condemned the recent brutal killing of four Kabwum citizens in Lae, Morobe Province. Joining calls from Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso, Paita described the violence as a direct affront to the peace-loving values of Morobe and Papua New Guinea more broadly.
He accused the alleged perpetrators of taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing that such acts must not go unpunished. Minister Paita called for immediate legislative and law enforcement responses, including urgent passage of the Vagrancy Act and reconsideration of the death penalty for cold-blooded murders.
Highlighting the risk of ethnic and urban violence fracturing national unity, Paita urged Parliament and security agencies to act decisively to uphold law and order and protect community safety.
