Children at Buk bilong Pikinini Library Learning Centres took part in activities today to celebrate the importance of mangroves and their role in environmental protection.
Five years ago, former students planted mangroves at Pari Village, which have since grown well. Buk bilong Pikinini continues to educate children about how mangroves protect coastlines, support marine ecosystems, and help mitigate climate change.
At Pari Village, children engaged in outdoor learning activities, including digging in the sand, observing small creatures such as crabs, and exploring the mangrove habitat firsthand.
Meanwhile, across all centres, children participated in coloring, story sessions, and awareness activities aimed at fostering an understanding of why mangroves matter and how they can contribute to protecting nature.
