Papua New Guinean music artist Tonton Malele has been injured in a car accident near the Waigani Tunnel in Port Moresby.
Authorities say the van he was travelling in — a white Toyota Noah with the registration BGJ-598 — was later set alight by an unidentified person.
Tonton was taken to hospital following the crash for medical treatment. His condition has not yet been disclosed.
Police are investigating the circumstances of both the accident and the arson, but no arrests have been made.
