The Papua New Guinea Women’s Business Resource Centre (PNGWBRC) is preparing to transition into a stand-alone entity, marking a significant step towards long-term sustainability. This milestone is being supported through the Papua New Guinea–Australia Partnership (#PNGAusPartnership), reflecting a shared commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs in PNG.
Since its establishment in 2016, PNGWBRC has served as a vital resource hub in Port Moresby, providing women from diverse backgrounds with access to information, training, and resources to start and grow their own businesses. The centre offers a secure and supportive environment where women can develop their entrepreneurial skills and connect with networks.
The Australian Government, in partnership with the Centre for International Private Enterprise, has provided ongoing technical and financial support to PNGWBRC, helping to strengthen its services and organisational capacity.
As PNGWBRC prepares to become an independent organisation, stakeholders are working closely with the centre to ensure a smooth transition that secures its future as a sustainable, locally driven institution dedicated to women’s economic empowerment.
The transition represents a key moment in PNG’s broader efforts to promote gender equality and inclusive economic growth by supporting women-led enterprises.
